Fuego a la Isla Festival (Germany)
As part of a team of artists and musicians, I have, on two occasions, worked with teenagers from a local youth project over the course of a week to co-produce shows focused on “Gender” and “Unity”, which they performed on the festival’s main stage.
Bristol Beacon
Beatbox and loop station tuition as part of We Care Week - a celebration honouring care-experienced young people, care leavers, and foster carers. Online workshops as a guest tutor, working with young people with disabilities. Music facilitation with care-experienced young people as part of their 'Bristol Plays Music' project, culminating in an end-of-day performance.
Trinity Community Arts (Bristol)
Working alongside other creatives as a music mentor for young people with low self-esteem/behavioural issues, homeless people, and adults with learning disabilities.
Heart of BS13 (Bristol)
I collaborated with a drama/vocal teacher to run a series of day workshops in schools/youth clubs in Hartcliffe. Students were taught how to beatbox and use a loop station. They then wrote lyrics centred on the climate emergency, which we brought together to record an improvised song.
Soundstorm Music Education Agency (Bournemouth)
In collaboration with Kitty Stewart, we took our interactive show 'Beats and Cats' to ten entire primary schools, inspiring pupils to beatbox, sing and move to the music.
Noise Academy
Delivering a week of workshops to students at Havering Music School (London) during their summer programme.
Choirs
Teaching beatbox sounds and rhythms to Murmuration Choir, Melody Makers Choir, Sale Sings, Break Out Voices Choir and Bristol Sci-Fi Choir to help them expand their repertoire.
Festival workshops
Shambala Festival, Kelburn Garden Party, Purbeck Valley Folk Festival, Valley Arts Fringe Festival, En Nord Beat (France), Goulash (Croatia)
Primary Schools
I have delivered many one-off workshops in primary schools, both in the UK and overseas. Beatboxing directly relates to the schools' syllabus through its connection to 'phonics'. It is also an easily-accessible skill that does not need an instrument.
Private lessons
I teach weekly lessons, both online and in person, with children and adults in the UK, France, Portugal and Canada. They featured on the BBC as an inspiring outcome of COVID. Through this work I have had the opportunity to work with many neurodivergent learners.
Community Centres
Running successful courses with large groups of children in Bristol at Matter Wholefoods, St. Werburghs CC and St. George CC.
After-school Clubs
Working with B.A.N.D. to deliver a series of one-off workshops in after-school clubs across Bristol; and as a beatbox teacher and play worker at Henry's After School Club and Sparks Play and Care over a year-long period.
Coventry University
Teaching beatbox to expand the skill set of a large group of acting students.
Corporate work
Intent HQ – Online workshop at AGM with 70 employees from all over the world
McCann Synergy and PWH Coopers – Team building workshops.
